Israel Garcia Jr. serves as Senior Counsel and Chief Legal Officer with San Miguel Attorneys, P.C., where he advises business owners and privately held companies on corporate, transactional, technology, and legal risk-management matters. His approach combines legal counsel with an understanding of business operations, technology, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies to help clients evaluate risk and make practical business decisions.

Before practicing law, Attorney Garcia worked as an engineer and spent approximately ten years as a senior cybersecurity analyst. He brings that technical and risk-management experience to his legal practice, approaching client matters not simply as isolated legal questions, but as interconnected business, operational, technology, and risk decisions.

His legal practice includes corporate structuring and restructuring, asset protection, governance, commercial transactions, contracts and commercial leases, business succession, and strategic risk management. His recent work includes developing multi-entity restructuring and asset-protection strategies designed to separate operating activities from equipment, fleet, real estate, and other business assets. He also works alongside CPAs, tax professionals, estate-planning counsel, and other advisers when a client’s business objectives require coordinated advice across disciplines.

Attorney Garcia’s practice also includes cross-border business and transactional matters, where his ability to advise and communicate with clients in both English and Spanish allows him to work directly with business owners and professionals across linguistic and cultural lines. His bilingual practice complements the firm’s work with businesses whose ownership, operations, assets, or professional relationships extend across borders.

He also advises businesses on artificial intelligence strategy, readiness, and responsible adoption. Drawing on his legal, engineering, and cybersecurity backgrounds, he helps business leaders evaluate how AI can be incorporated into their organizations while considering the legal, information-security, governance, operational, and business risks that accompany new technology.  Beyond advising clients, Israel actively promotes AI adoption among attorneys and professional staff, encouraging legal teams to rethink traditional workflows and use emerging technology to work more effectively and provide greater value to clients.

His transactional experience encompasses business acquisitions and asset sales, commercial leasing, business succession and buy-sell matters, and transactions involving lender liens and third-party approvals. The firm’s records, for example, reflect his involvement in an asset acquisition involving SBA and lender liens and closing conditions, as well as commercial lease and succession matters.

At the center of his practice is a holistic approach to business counsel. Rather than viewing legal issues in isolation, he works to understand how a company operates, where its assets and risks reside, how technology affects those risks, and where the business is trying to go. He then helps owners and executives develop legal and business strategies designed to protect enterprise value, manage risk, support growth, and position the organization for the future.

Licensed to practice law in Texas, Israel advises clients in both English and Spanish, bringing together legal, business, engineering, cybersecurity, and technology perspectives to address the increasingly complex challenges facing modern businesses.
